Avalon Veterinary Clinic, based in Milngavie, Glasgow, was officially awarded with National Pet Month’s ‘Best 2012 Veterinary Event’ today.
The practice’s Waggy Wander dog walk attracted clients and friends of the practice and their four legged friends to join in the walk. There were tours of the practice, dog and cat themed cup cakes and goody bags for dog owners.
National Pet Month Chairman, Phillip Sketchley who visited the Milnagavie practice to present their certificate explained: “The National Pet Month trustees loved the way this event embraced the theme of 2012 National Pet Month – ‘You and your pets – a winning team’, as teams of dogs and their owners and friends enjoyed a walk together. The day also encouraged responsible pet ownership and highlighted the vital role that veterinary professional have in helping to keep our pets healthy. The behind-the-scenes tour allowed owners to picture their pet being well looked after if they have to visit the clinic.
“We were also delighted that the event managed to raise funds for several charities with Dogs Trust and local charity Catflap receiving a donation – and we are very grateful for a donation to National Pet Month itself,” he added.
“We look forward to seeing what Avalon has in store next year, when National Pet Month runs from 1 April – 6 May 2013.”
