WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE DOG-FRIENDLY DESTINATION WHERE YOU CAN WALK, WAG AND WANDER?

There’s nothing quite like heading out on an adventure with your dog - whether it’s a trip to a local café, a browse around the shops or a full-blown day out exploring somewhere new. Dogs make the pawfect adventure companion and today there are plenty of places that will welcome them with open arms.

As it’s National Pet Month, we’re shining a light on a few of the many dog-friendly destinations across the UK.

We love some of the pawsitive messages from venues:

“Proud to be a dog friendly hotel,” says the Lamb Inn in the Cotswolds who says it loves having canine companions to stay in their specially allocated rooms, with dogs welcome to dine with you in the bar and garden.

However, they do ask that you let them know if you intend bringing your four legged friend before booking your room so they can get it ready with a cosy dog bed, water bowl in the room and a sausage for breakfast.

All of the venues mentioned here welcome well-behaved dogs on leads and offer a relaxing few hours or day out with your pet by your side.

Dog-Friendly Shopping Centres

• Cameron Toll, Edinburgh: Dog-friendly throughout the centre, with clear signage to show which shops welcome pets.

• Glasgow Fort, Glasgow: Great for open-air shopping with plenty of dog-friendly facilities.

• Ashford Designer Outlet, Kent: Water stations and many shops displaying dog-friendly window stickers.

• Braintree Village, Essex: Lots of shops allow dogs and there’s an open layout to help dogs feel right at home.

• The Beacon, Eastbourne: Another great option for coastal shoppers who want to bring their dog along.

• Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth: Pet-friendly shopping by the water.

• Quadrant Shopping Centre, Swansea: Wales’ first fully dog-friendly mall.
